About Dr. Sheng-wei Lan (藍聖瑋 中醫師):
Dr. Sheng-wei Lan is a practitioner specializing in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, and Ayurvedic medicine. Her specialty include internal medicine, women's wellness, mental wellness, bipolar, pain management, lifestyle and dietary counseling. She has healed over 4500 patients through her nonprofit clinic “Great Compassion Healing Center” in downtown Berkeley as well as at numerous volunteer events by the Tzu Chi Charity Organization, City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, Berkeley Buddhist Monastery, Medicine Buddha Healing Center, and Elephant Pharmacy. She is also a faculty member in Five Branches University.
Her impressive track record began from the time of her residency at the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences, where she earned her Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine (M.S.TCM). Dr. Lan’s reputation was such that she quickly became the most “booked” intern among patients at her school clinic.
Dr. Lan continued to impress her professors even at graduation; she was the only person in her class to pass the state acupuncturist licensing Board Exam (L.Ac) and national Board Exam (NCCAOM) at the same time she completed another Ph.D program (in Ayurvedic medicine), a major feat in this field.
Until recently, Dr. Lan served as an advice practitioner and herbalist at Elephant Pharmacy in Berkeley. As she begins her pursuit of yet another clinical doctoral degree in Chinese Medicine (DAOM), she continues to see patients at her nonprofit clinic “Great Compassion Healing Center,” and holds free classes at Elephant Pharmacy; topics include Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine, Chinese calligraphy class, Tai Chi Fan, tea classes, etc.
Today, she is one of the very few practitioners in the US who can offer patients the benefits of both Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, the most ancient wisdoms and philosophies of Asia.
